Day Five - Part 2

a wander around the city this afternoon claimed witness to some interesting sights, to say the least.  proof that life goes on....a japanese couple getting married in the square, people with laptops outside the central library accessing the wireless internet, cafe open signs....some full, some VERY empty.
two of the clocks i have seen in town both stopped as the earthquake hit.  a constant reminder of that precise moment.
there is a lot more work going on today though, buildings being strengthened, buildings being demolished.  i go past buildings that i saw just yesterday with more damage to them, bricks splayed across the ground.
wandering past closed premises a variety of notices colour their doors.  green = good, yellow = not so good, red = pretty damn bad.
one of my favourite stores around town, that i have been VERY good in resisting for quite a while, such a while that i didn't even know it had moved across the road....bummer that...the store across the road is relatively intact, compared to the premise across the rd (see 'the painted room').
all in all things are still fairly somber.
for all the empty streets tho, there are as many again that are full of traffic - too many people not at work with too much time on their hands.
